Terms & Conditions
1. About these terms
These Terms and Conditions apply to quotations, booking requests, confirmed bookings, equipment hire and purchases made from PartyPop, a Cape Town-based balloon décor and event styling business. By accepting a quotation, submitting a booking request, paying a deposit or completing a payment through this website, the customer confirms that they have read and accepted these terms.
2. Services, service area and quotations
PartyPop provides balloon garlands, arches, organic installations, backdrop styling, custom décor, equipment hire and related setup services in Cape Town and surrounding areas. The selected package and submitted form record the customer’s requested date, time, location, celebration, colours and special notes. Any custom work, printing, add-ons, breakdown requirements or services outside the listed package are supplied only when confirmed in writing by PartyPop. PartyPop does not offer international shipping or export services unless agreed in writing.
3. Prices, currency and additional charges
All prices are in South African rand (ZAR). Current base package prices are Essential R1,500, Signature R2,800 and Luxe R4,500. Equipment hire prices are shown on the hiring page. Options listed in the Signature booking form are included in the Signature package price, subject to PartyPop confirming the selections and availability. Special requests outside the listed package inclusions are quoted separately and supplied only after the customer approves the quote. Delivery fees, extra labour, venue-access costs, printing outside the package inclusions, damage charges or other approved extras will be disclosed before they are charged. PartyPop will not exceed an agreed quotation without informing the customer and receiving approval.
4. Online booking and deposit
The customer chooses a package or hiring item, completes the relevant booking steps, selects an available date and time, provides the event or delivery location and adds any special information. The website may place a short temporary hold on a selected date while payment is being completed. A 50% deposit is required to submit and secure the requested booking slot. After successful payment, the order is recorded and a payment confirmation and invoice are sent. The booking becomes final only after a PartyPop owner has reviewed the information and confirmed the booking directly. For packages and custom setups, the remaining 50% is payable once setup is complete. For standalone equipment hire, the remaining balance must be paid before collection or delivery.
5. Payment and PayFast
Online payments are processed securely by PayFast. PartyPop does not receive or store the customer’s full card number, card security code or online-banking credentials. The customer must provide accurate contact, billing, event and delivery information and ensure the payment is authorised. A payment confirmation or invoice confirms receipt of the booking request and payment; it is not final event confirmation. If payment is not completed during a temporary date hold, the date may become available to another customer.
6. Changes and cancellations
Requests to change the date, venue, colours, design, delivery method or scope must be made in writing and are subject to availability and any approved additional cost. A customer may cancel an advance booking by giving PartyPop written notice. PartyPop may retain or charge a reasonable cancellation amount, taking into account the nature of the booking, the notice given, the likelihood of finding another booking and non-recoverable materials, printing, supplier, travel and preparation costs already incurred. Any amount paid above the reasonable cancellation charge will be refunded. Custom items already ordered or produced may not be refundable where permitted by law.
7. Refunds and service concerns
If PartyPop cannot accept the requested date or time after payment, the customer may choose a full refund of amounts paid or transfer the payment to another available date. Custom installations and personalised décor cannot ordinarily be returned after delivery or setup, but this does not limit any rights that cannot lawfully be excluded. The customer should inspect the installation or hiring items at handover and report concerns promptly so PartyPop has a reasonable opportunity to correct them. If PartyPop cancels a confirmed booking for reasons not caused by the customer or a force majeure event, amounts paid for services not supplied will be refunded. Approved refunds are returned through the original payment method where available; bank and payment-provider processing times and permitted fees may apply.
8. Setup, delivery and venue access
Package services are fulfilled by scheduled delivery and setup at the agreed event venue. Setup and breakdown are included only where stated in the selected package or written quotation. The customer must provide safe and timely access, an accurate address, suitable loading or parking arrangements and any required venue permissions. Delays, extra labour, parking, stairs, restricted access or waiting time may result in an additional charge if disclosed and approved.
9. Balloons, outdoor conditions and substitutions
Balloon colours, sizes and finishes may vary slightly from photographs or digital samples. Heat, sunlight, wind, rain, sharp surfaces, handling and venue conditions can affect balloons after installation. PartyPop may make reasonable material or design substitutions when an item is unavailable while preserving the agreed overall style and value.
10. Hiring items, damage and collection
Hired boards, arches, plinths and other reusable items remain the property of PartyPop. Collection is available free of charge from Welcome Estate, Athlone, Cape Town at an agreed time. If equipment-hire delivery is selected, checkout calculates the one-way driving distance from PartyPop’s confirmed dispatch point in Welcome Estate, Athlone, Cape Town to the supplied delivery address at R9.50 per kilometre. The customer must check the matched address and accept the displayed fee before payment. Delivery is included in the order total and 50% deposit, but excluded from discount-code savings. If a route cannot be verified, the customer must correct the address, choose collection or contact PartyPop before paying. The customer is responsible for hired items from handover until their agreed return or collection, must not move or alter them without permission, and may be charged the reasonable repair or replacement cost for loss, theft or damage beyond fair wear. Full details appear in the Delivery & Collection Policy.
11. Customer content and intellectual property
The customer confirms that any names, logos, artwork or images supplied for printing or styling may lawfully be used. PartyPop retains ownership of its original concepts, designs and photographs. PartyPop may photograph completed work for its portfolio and social media unless the customer asks in writing before the event that identifiable content not be used.
12. Liability and force majeure
PartyPop will provide services with reasonable care and skill. To the extent permitted by South African law, PartyPop is not liable for indirect or consequential loss, venue restrictions, guest damage, weather, power failures, supplier interruptions or events beyond reasonable control. Nothing in these terms excludes rights that cannot legally be excluded.
13. Complaints, governing law and contact
Questions, changes, cancellation notices or complaints should be sent as soon as possible to PartyPop at partypopza2023@gmail.com or WhatsApp +27 72 960 9773. PartyPop will attempt to resolve complaints fairly and promptly. These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of South Africa, including applicable consumer-protection law, and disputes are subject to the jurisdiction of the South African courts.
